Financial assistance is provided through Community Futures Meridian Region. To be considered for financing an individual must be turned down by a traditional lending institution. Loan amounts are financed up to $125,000 through the Loan Program and up to $25,000 may be considered through the Young Entrepreneurs Loan Program (YELP). Two other specific programs available for business development include: Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program and Self Employment Benefit (SEB) Program. The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program assists entrepreneurs who wish to start a business but have a disability keeping them from pursuing their venture. The SEB Program assists current or past recipients of Employment Insurance with the initial stages of business development. CFMR is also involved in developing young entrepreneurs. Each year Community Futures Meridian Region hosts a Youth Conference to engage youth, first hand, in the opportunities and concepts of entrepreneurship. CFMR participates in the planning of a Youth Camp for youth 13-15 years of age at the Eagles Nest Ranch in Cypress Hills, AB. Activities are based on educating the youth on the different aspects of starting a business.
