Transfer Station Transition and Fees

Image of the scale at the transfer station

Beginning November 1, the Town of Rosetown Landfill will be transitioning to a fully operational Transfer Station.

"While there were some delays getting started and lining up schedules, we feel that the new area for household waste is cleaner and more user-friendly. The gravel site will make dumping more accessible during wet weather," said Bob Bors, Superintendent of Public Works.

The operator booth has been relocated next to the new scale which will also improve visibility of each of the sites. When a user arrives at the Transfer Station, they will drive their vehicle onto the scale where it will be weighed. After dumping their materials at the appropriate site, their vehicle will be weighed again and they will be charged the difference according to the fees below.

Beginning November 1, users will also be able to pay by debit on site.

Transfer Station Fees in Effect November 1, 2018

Beginning November 1, 2018, the following Transfer Station tipping fees will be charged at the gate:

  • $25 per load up to a maximum of 200 kg.
  • Anything over 200 kg will be $115.00 per metric tonne.

Demolition Material

All demolition/renovation/construction material, shingles and concrete are subject to the $115.00 per metric tonne tipping fee as soon as the scale is operational.

Interim Fees until October 31, 2018

During this transition and until October 31, 2018, all household waste will be accepted at the approved per-load rate.

Additional Information

Access to the demolition pit is dependent on a dry weather road. Hours of operation remain the same.
