Town of Rosetown 2018 Accomplishments

  • Town Office
    • Re-roof and installed new sky lights
    • Installed Automatic Opening Doors
    • Upgraded the windows
    • Completed Asset Management reports
    • Reviewed & Updated the Town of Rosetown Strategic Plan
    • Development of new Website.
  • Protective Services:
    • Established inter-municipal EMO Committee
    • Maintain the RCMP Contract
    • Entered into a new Mutual Aid Agreement with the RM of Winslow, Villages of Dodsland & Plenty
  • Transportation/Public Works:
    • Street Maintenance (pavement patching) - $120,000.00
    • Constructed & Developed a Transfer Station – estimated costs $200,000.00
    • Recap 2 Blocks of pavement - $118,000.00
    • Purchased a valve exerciser
    • Purchased a pressure washer
    • Created a rolling plan regarding future paving projects.
  • Public & Environment Health:
    • Working with the Health Region and Contributing Municipalities regarding Doctor Recruitment.
    • Provided the Rosetown & District Primary Care Centre with a $60,000.00 operating Grant.
    • Provided Orange Memories with a $100,000.00 operating Grant.
  • Recreation:
    • Provided the following grants:
      • Rosetown Kinsmen - $5,000.00
      • Civic Centre Operating Grant - $25,000.00
      • Golf Course - $5,000.00
      • Rosetown Community Youth Project - $16,000.00
      • Saskatchewan Lotteries Fund - $20,000.00 back into the community.
    • Ordered and planted 50 new trees
    • Upgraded ball diamond #5 dugout
    • Purchased Steel Drag for ball diamond maintenance.
    • New Ice Surface lights installed at arena
    • Installed Heat Detector system at arena
    • Assumed the operations of the Tourism Booth
    • Continue to sustain services – Arena, Pool, Parks, Civic Centre, Elks Hall, Cemetery
    • Purchased Pool Sun Shade & playground equipment for St. Andrews Park
  • Water & Sewer:
    • Rebuilt sump pump in waste pit; updated hatch covers.
    • Continued with upgrading water meters to remote reading meters
    • Construction completed on the new Main Sewage Lift Station – approximately $2.8 million
    • Construction and development completed regarding a new well - approximately $600,000
