Coffee With Council
Summary of Discussions
On Tuesday June 3, 2025 Council held an informal discussion evening called Coffee with Council. It was held at the Elks hall in Rosetown and ran from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Approximately 30 members of the public took this opportunity to sit down and have a conversation with members of Council. The conversations were quite varied and included the following:
- Several Individuals complemented the Town Staff on the job they do and singled out the street sweeping and back alley maintenance.
- Paving Fortune Crescent and Little Flower as well as how the town picks future streets and the method of raising funds for the cost of pavement.
- Replacement of infrastructure, capital equipment and the rising costs.
- Snow removal around Aseltine School.
- Events calendar website encompassing all events in and around the Town and how the Town’s website can be improved.
- Town’s role in insuring that professional health care providers are available in town.
- Notification of street sweeping activities to get vehicles moved off of the street.
- Maintenance of back alleys, boulevard trees, hedge rows next to sidewalks, grass cutting and recreation facilities.
- Public exposure of Council members.
- Town sponsored public events such as a day in the park.
- Town taking assuming responsibility when groups or organization build something and then walk away.
- Structure of future coffee with council events.
- Various other town issues out of the scope of Town Council.
