Organics Collection

Overview

Rosetown’s organic waste collection was introduced to the community in 2017. Bins were provided to households, and collection takes places every two weeks during spring, summer and fall months, weather-permitting.

Curbside Compost Collection begins May 4, 2021 (weather permitting )

Effective May 4 (weather permitting), we will resume bi-weekly (Tuesday) curb-side pick-up of your dark green compost bin on the day designated for your area.

There are two zones:
Red Zone (north of 6th avenue): pick-up begins May4
Blue Zone (south of 6th avenue): pick-up begins May 11

Please ensure you have your cart out by 7:00 am and have it placed wheels to the curb and at least 4’ away from vehicles or
obstructions.

What can I put in my organic bin?

  • Plant waste
  • Fruits, vegetables
  • Coffee grounds, filters, tea bags
  • Eggs Shells

The following are not permitted

  • NO proteins (poultry, beef, pork, etc.) dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt), fat trimmings, oils, baked goods, coffee pods, bio-plastics, glass or metal
